By Dr. Michael Tantillo
This 29-year-old woman came to my office to discuss breast augmentation. She wanted to to enhance her bust size in order to better balance her figure; however, she did not want a round appearance of the upper breast. She also did not want an incision on her breasts.
During our breast augmentation consultation, I explained that because of her natural anatomy and tissue characteristics, she would begin to see roundness of the upper breast at relatively small implant volume. I estimated that implants greater than 210cc would give her a round upper breast. She chose saline implants filled to 190cc placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the underarm (transaxillary approach).
This active woman quickly returned to her busy lifestyle. Because I precisely create the implant pocket rather than pull and tear the muscle placing the implant below the muscle, my patients experience a rapid recovery following breast augmentation. I do not use drains or tight wraps after surgery. My patients are allowed to shower the day after surgery and are encouraged to go out of the house the day after surgery.
If you are interested in breast augmentation that will reliably give you the aesthetic result you wish with minimal post operative pain and recovery time, please contact my office by phone at 617.505.6818 or click request a consultation. You and I will discuss and define your goals from surgery so that you will make the best decisions for yourself. As part of our consultation we can use three dimensional photography which allows us to simulate the look of the breasts after surgery as one tool to help in your decision making process.
