This woman in her late thirties from western Massachusetts came to my office to discuss breast augmentation after pregnancy. She was interested in breast augmentation at my Boston-area practice because she wanted fullness in her upper breasts while improving her figure balance. She had asymmetric breast ptosis; however, she declined a breast lift. A breast lift would have required more scars but would have lifted the nipples and made them more even. After reviewing her breast augmentation options, this patient chose to have 350cc mid profile silicone gel implants placed under the muscle (dual plane) using an incision underneath the breast (inframammary).

The surgery takes about an hour, and patients are ready to go home shortly after the surgery is finished. I do not use drains of tight wraps and patients often do not require narcotic pain medication. Patients generally resume normal activities within one or two days following surgery.
